Fellow Wichitans,
There is no doubt that, it is in the best interest for Wichita to have in District 3 a dedicated and involved public servant with vision for the future and an ear for listening to the ideas that will take us into the future and make us the most desired city to live, work, and thrive in. With this in mind, and the support and backing of Commissioner Jim Skelton, I
have made the decision to enter the race for the Wichita City Council District 3 seat.
My experience the past 13 years in Wichita's aircraft industry using process improvements and problem solving techniques has taught me to listen to and consider the ideas of others, think outside the box, and provide solutions. I will use this experience with an open mind to maintain the course Commissioner Skelton has set the past five years in District 3 and continue the move forward.
Current issues that are of concern to District 3 and Wichita:
- Completion of 47th and I-135 interchange and commercial development of that area
- Advocate for increased street and infrastructure maintenance funding
- Continue to press for construction of a south Wichita Railroad overpass
- Partner with local small business and our industries to protect and create Jobs
I am a taxpaying citizen who has felt the crunch of a lagging economy. I have run a small business and I know what it's like to survive on much less. I believe in responsible government and I will strive to make sensible decisions with tax payer's money that will benefit individuals, businesses, and families in District 3 and Wichita as a whole.
With sincere thanks,
James Clendenin
